ROHHAD syndrome is a rare syndrome affecting children, causing previously normal healthy children to gain weight and have breathing difficulties, as well as other problems. Almost every child with ROHHAD syndrome is different as they vary in the timing of the onset of symptoms as well as the degree and range of features. As there is no definitive test for ROHHAD syndrome and it is primarily a descriptive syndrome, the diagnosis is challenging and not always considered. It is likely that ROHHAD syndrome is not one single condition, but a collection of similar conditions with different causes which would explain the wide spectrum seen in this syndrome

YOUR Radio is proud to support an ongoing twitter and Facebook campaign for Aaron -  his mission being to help the other ROHHAD children.  This is his tweet video link :

WOW - Wigbank, Clydebank

Amanda's Story

Amanda was diagnosed with breast cancer in November, 2012. Amanda found the process of obtaining a wig on an NHS Voucher to be cold, and became determined that no other woman should be made to feel the same way she did.

New wigs can be expensive to buy, even NHS prescription ones. Amanda visited the Wig Bank in Perth (originally founded by Agnes Lennox) and wanted to bring the concept to the West of Scotland and surrounding area so that women could feel relaxed when choosing a wig suited for them.

People will donate their no longer needed wigs to Wig Bank, where Amanda and her team will wash, condition and disinfect them, then sell them for between £20-£40.

In November 2014 the salon were delighted to officially announce that they now have the licence to provide wigs via NHS prescription.

WOW For Wig Bank is based at 475 Dumbarton Road, Clydebank.
