Dumbarton Workers Strike

The first of a series of planned strikes went ahead at the Chivas Brothers bottling plant at Kilmalid in Dumbarton yesterday. (7th)

The long running dispute, which centres on pay disparity between the Kilmalid plant and Chivas' other site in Paisley saw more than 100 workers walk out.

Staff in Dumbarton took part in a demonstration and manned picket lines.

Two further stoppages have been announced for August 14th and 15th.
