MSP Calls for Ferry Contract Cancellation

Local MSP Jackie Baillie has called on the Strathclyde Partnership for Transport to cancel its contract with ferry operators Clydelink and find a new operator for the Kilcreggan to Gourock ferry service.

The service has been suspended on a number of occasions due to technical faults this summer, with the Island Princess out of action for over two and half weeks recently because the vessel failed several safety inspections.
The Helensburgh and Lomond MSP will meet with SPT on Thursday to demand a new operator should take over the running of the service.
